1 person suffers apparent gunshot wound, 2 officers hospitalized in Newark police-involved shooting

NEWARK, New Jersey (WABC) — Three people, including two officers were hospitalized following a police-involved shooting in Newark Monday morning.

Officials say police fired shots at around 5 a.m. on the third floor of Ebon Square Apartments on Clinton Avenue.

The suspect fired first and an officer fired in response, police said.

Authorities say The suspect was taken to the hospital in stable condition to be treated for an apparent gunshot wound.
