Woman charged with attempted murder of 3-year-old
A woman was arrested late last year after she was accused of trying to kill a 3-year-old child in Somerset County, authorities announced Monday.
The woman, Alfonsina Anguita, 21, of Manville, is a relative of the child but Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Chief Frank Roman told NJ Advance Media he could disclose their exact relationship.
Detectives were called to a local hospital on Dec. 12, 2023 for a report of a child with signs of physical abuse and strangulation, the office said in a statement.
A medical examination revealed patterns and marks indicative of child abuse and evidence that it allegedly occurred while the child was under the care of Anguita in Manville, the office said.
Every criminal must be punished and every innocent must get justice.
