N.J. man convicted of killing, sexually assaulting girlfriend’s 2-year-old

A New Jersey man has been convicted of sexually assaulting and killing his then-girlfriend’s 2-year-old daughter more than seven years ago.

Michael Disporto Jr., 29, of the Manahawkin section of Stafford, faces up to life in prison after being found guilty of murder and aggravated sexual assault, the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office said.

Disporto sexually assaulted the child, causing injuries that led to her death three days later, prosecutors said. Authorities also said Disporto convinced the girl’s mother not to get medical care for her daughter.
